When moving to a new area such as Beaufort, it's important to find a neighborhood that welcomes you.  Having activities to do, meeting new friends easily, a sense of community are qualities that help newcomers fit into their new surroundings.  In this blog I am going to detail what I feel are the three best subdivisions for moving to the Beaufort SC area.

  1. Cat Island - This is my hands down favorite choice for newbies.  The community of Cat Island offers a multitude of amenities that can keep even the most active household calendar filled, along with some of the friendliest people in town.  The list of things to do include swimming at the pool, tennis, golf, fishing, boating and great food at the British Open Pub.  The Pub also has events such as "Wild Women's Wednesdays" for social fun.  While the activities are really nice, the island is self contained which lends itself to making friends in a snap.  My wife and I moved here a little over a year ago and have more friends than we ever though possible.

  2. Coosaw Point - The wonderful neighborhood of Coosaw Point is a perfect to become acclimated to the area with things to do and a sense community.   The 12,000 square foot and resident dock are centers of the social scene here. Homeowners and their families are welcomed with open are the minute you arrive.  Whether it is pool cookouts, boating excursions or a friendly tennis match, you can't help feeling that you are part of something.  Coosaw Point is a definite when exploring real estate options in Beaufort.

  3. Newpoint - Designed as a walking community in the tradition of Charleston and Savannah, Newpoint is a great place to fit in quickly.  All homes are designed with a front sitting porch to encourage neighbor interaction and a tight knit community.  If that wasn't enough, Newpoint has splendid green spaces to go along with the homeowners day dock.  Water activities are the name of the game here.  It is hard to resist, as Beaufortonians know life on the water is as good as it gets.

With a town this great, there are a lot of wonderful options for people moving here.  I hope this list will give anyone moving to Beaufort, South Carolina a head start!!!
